eSIM stands for "embedded SIM" and functions as a digital SIM card built directly into your device. It allows you to use mobile services without needing a physical SIM card. Prepare Your Device For eSIM
3 Ways to Check if your device supports eSIM
Ensure your device is compatible with eSIM technology. Most iPhones, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices support eSIM, but it's important to verify this.
Use one of three methods to check if your device is eSIM-compatible:

Make sure you have internet connection via Wi-Fi during setup process.

Ensure you have the latest OS update on your device.
Check for eSIM in settings
Some devices may indicate eSIM capability in the settings.
Apple iPhone
- Go to Settings > Mobile Service and look for the option to Add eSIM. If this option is available, your device is eSIM-compatible.
Android device
- Go to Settings > Connections > SIM manager and look for the option to Add eSIM. If this option is available, your device is eSIM-compatible.
Check for eSIM via EID number
If your device has an EID number, it supports eSIM.
Find your EID number
The EID (Embedded Identity Document) is unique to eSIM-enabled devices. To check this:
Apple iPhone
- Go to Settings > General > About, and scroll down to find the EID number.
Android smartphone
- Open Settings > About phone > Status information, and look for the EID number.
You can also dial the code *#06# on your iPhone or Android keypad to display the EID directly on your screen.

How to Convert to eSIM

Log in to My Tusass
Locate the mobile subscription you want to convert and click "Convert your SIM card to eSIM today". Alternatively, you can click "Details" and scroll down to the SIM Card section.

Check if eSIM is available.
On your mobile subscription page, you’ll find a section titled SIM Card, where it will state "eSIM available". To begin the conversion process, click the "Change" button.

Confirm device compatibility.
To proceed with the conversion, you must confirm that your device supports eSIM by checking the box: "I confirm that my device supports eSIM".

Verification process.
To ensure you're converting the correct mobile subscription, enter the 4-digit code sent to the mobile number you’re in the process of converting. Note that your physical SIM card will remain active until you add the new digital eSIM in the following step.

Activate your eSIM.
Now your eSIM QR code is ready for activation on your device.

Scan QR Code
Use your iPhone’s camera to scan the eSIM QR code.
Alternativily you can enter your eSIM details manually by going to Settings > Mobile Service > Add eSIM. Choose option "Use QR code" and then choose "Enter Details Manually". You can find your manual eSIM informations on your mobile subscription on the self-service.

Activate eSIM
Follow the on-screen prompts to activate your eSIM. Once activated, your eSIM is ready to use.

Use your Android device camera to scan the eSIM QR code.
Alternativily you can enter your eSIM details manually by going to Settings > Connections > Sim manager > Add eSIM. Choose option "Scan QR code" and then choose "Enter activation code". You can find your manual eSIM informations on your mobile subscription on the self-service.

Activate eSIM
Follow the on-screen prompts to activate your eSIM. Once activated, your eSIM is ready to use.

Frequently Asked Questions
About eSIM
Can I have both a physical SIM and an eSIM on the same device?
Yes, you can use both an eSIM and a physical SIM simultaneously on many smartphones if your device supports it. It therefore allows for multiple subscriptions on the same mobile device.
Can I move my eSIM from one mobile device to another?
As a private customer, you can easily transfer your eSIM number from your current phone to another by following our guide for either iPhone or Android smartphone.
Note! It is important that you do not reset your phone before starting this process.
iPhone Guide
1. On device
Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Select your active eSIM under the list of SIM cards you want to remove.
2. Delete eSIM
Scroll to the bottom of the selected eSIM page and tap the "Delete eSIM" button. Confirm the deletion when prompted.
3. Log in to self-service, My Tusass
Once the eSIM profile has been removed from your device, you can log into your account and select the mobile subscription number you removed from your device. Your eSIM QR code will be visible and ready to be added to your new device. If the QR code does not appear, please wait a few minutes or refresh the page. Log ind på Mit Tusass

Android Guide
1. On device
Go to Settings > Connections > Sim manager > Select your active eSIM under the SIMs list which you would like to remove.
2. Remove eSIM
Tap the "Remove" button on the selected eSIM. Confirm the removal of eSIM when prompted.

Once the eSIM profile has been removed from your device, you can log into your account and select the mobile subscription number you removed from your device. Note! it’s important you don’t format your phone before removing your eSIM number from the device. If your not able to follow these step due to damaged or stolen device, you will need to reach out to Customer Service at 80 80 80, weekdays 9.00-18.00.
Does it cost anything to switch from a physical SIM card to an eSIM?
It costs nothing to switch from a physical SIM card to an eSIM.
Is eSIM available for Pay as You Go?
Currently eSIM is only offered as a solution to customers with an active mobil subscription, they can easily convert their current SIM card to an eSIM via the self-service portal, My Tusass.
